KICKBOXING

If you want to know a little more about our core Kickboxing group then read the information across the page.

If you just want to join the group then it’s really simple.
We don’t run any form of booking system, so just pick the class you want to attend, show up, train then if you want to join then set up your membership with the help of one of the coaches. That’s really it!

What Style of Kickboxing is at TVMA

Many members of the TVMA team are also accomplished Boxers and Kickboxers. In the Bellingham club (TVMA) we now have a thriving kickboxing group. In fact the whole group was originally ran as Bellingham Muay Thai under Rob Campbell, an accomplished Thai Boxer who still trains at TVMA to this day.

The group is headed up by Philip Breckons who started his training with our own Alex Wright and has since travelled to train Muay Thai in Thailand as well as regularly training at several of the North East’s top Muay Thai & Boxing gyms.

The group has a mix of partner drills, fitness, pad work as well as sparring for the more experienced members.

Muay Thai & Boxing

The best of both worlds! We teach a blend of Muay Thai Kickboxing, using the full range of striking available. Kicks, knees, elbows and punching.

Both Phil and Alex have trained in western Boxing & MMA too so there is a strong emphasis on building pugilism skills.

MMA

Several of the TVMA team have fought in Mixed Martial Arts and our blend of Jiu Jitsu, Wrestling and Striking allows for this to be a viable competition format for anyone wanting to test themselves in the toughest combat sport in the world. There are plans for an MMA class in Hexham in 2027.
